The heart of the Urban League movement is our professionally staffed Urban League affiliates. As the 115th affiliate the MWUL embraces and pursues the National Urban League’s 5 Point Empowerment Agenda:
-Education and Youth Empowerment: Ensuring that all children are well educated and prepared for economic self-reliance in the 21st century by eliminating the achievement gap between minorities and increasing the graduation rate among African-Americans and Hispanics.
-Economic Empowerment: Empowering all people in attaining economic self-sufficiency through job training, business development, growth in quality jobs, home-ownership, entrepreneurship, and wealth accumulation.
